Pandemic Doesn’t Equal Panic

Schools are postponed, occasions are being canceled, and the media includes one update after the other, all adding to a structured feeling of anxiety. But anxiety is the last thing you need to feel now, we have dealt with worse. Just because this has been labeled a pandemic does not conclude lethality. However, we need to remain cautious but not solicitous.

When you feel anxious, here are steps you can take to put those feelings in perspective:

  • Remember there are no benefits to keep watching the same news all over or in believing the rumors. Therefore, limit news haunting to what is really giving new information and stick to solid news sources
  • Take the necessary and recommended precautions, but don’t try to come up with your own tricks. When we push to 110%, we get trapped into the unhelpful behaviors
  • Keeping up and maintaining regular schedules and routines is a good way to keep anxiety at bay and feel normal
  • Relationships and social support are good ways to fight anxiety, so don’t completely isolate yourself from other people
  • Maintaining physical activity
  • Breathe and relax and focus on the things you need to get done

Being anxious will only delude you to thinking you’re experiencing non-existent symptoms and have you worry about you and your loved ones! Remember to only worry about taking the right precautions!
